Senior Session with Peanut the Turkey 🦃✨

Some sessions just make you smile the entire time you’re behind the camera and Ava’s was exactly that. Not only did she absolutely own every single look, but she brought along the most unforgettable co-star for her photos… her pet turkey, Peanut!

We started the session right at their residence, which made it even more special. There is something about photographing seniors in the places that mean the most to them, the comfort of home, the little everyday corners that hold memories and it creates a level of authenticity you just can’t stage anywhere else. Add in a feathery best friend and you’ve got a session full of personality, laughter, and joy. 

After spending time with Peanut and capturing those personal touches, we headed to a beautiful private country road nearby. The soft light filtering through the trees, the quiet open space, and the peaceful scenery created the perfect contrast - simple, timeless, and so very “Ava.” It was the kind of location that feels like you’ve stepped into a storybook, and she glowed in every frame.

A bonus that made this session extra meaningful was mom choosing to add on the family micro option. It’s such a sweet way to celebrate not only the senior, but the chapter the whole family is stepping into together. These in-between seasons pass so quickly, and I love when families choose to step in front of the camera too- it tells the full story.

And Ava? She rocked every single moment. From the first click of the shutter to the very last pose, she gave me nothing but pure perfection- so much so that there literally wasn’t a single image left unedited. Every frame told a story worth sharing.

Senior portraits are best when they feel like you and that’s exactly what this session captured: her world, her personality, her quiet country backdrop, and her favorite sidekick, all wrapped into one beautiful afternoon.
