Katie Ulmer Photography creates meaningful portraits for Seniors, Families, Athletes, and Brands throughout Southeast Louisiana and beyond.

I’ve loved photography since I was eight years old, when I got my first 8mm Kodak camera. What started as a childhood fascination grew into a career I’m incredibly grateful for and a genuine love for photographing people in all the different seasons of their lives. With over 10+ years of experience I bring a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and care to each session you will experience. 

I’m drawn to beautiful light, real connection, and the little in-between moments that make an image feel like you. I want your photographs to look polished and beautiful, but never so posed or perfect that you don’t recognize yourself.

From planning your session and helping with wardrobe to guiding you through the experience and helping you choose professional artwork afterward, I’m here for the whole process. From shoot to heirloom, the goal is simple: make it easy to be photographed and create something you’ll be proud to keep.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

 I’m a beach girl at heart. Put me somewhere with my toes in the sand, a cold margarita or piña colada, chips and salsa, and I’m pretty happy.

I love beautiful things, but I’ve never been much for things that feel too perfect or too trendy. I’m drawn to the collected, lived-in kind of beautiful- old photographs, linen, pretty dishes, a little Pottery Barn, coastal colors, and anything with a bit of nostalgia attached to it.

Basically, I’m a beach-loving, sentimental, slightly coastal-grandma kind of girl.

When I’m not photographing people, life is usually pretty ordinary around here-family, coffee, sports, a house that’s never quite as clean as I’d like, and trying to slow down enough to actually enjoy it all.

I think that’s probably why I love photography so much. The ordinary days have a way of becoming the ones we miss.
